Outside help

I was trying to figure out Mario's height and wight and Alex Clark (a fellow nerd) showed me a video that had all the information on from some youtuber named game theory. I would have had to make a stupid guess otherwise so I am grateful for that.

final summary

So I started by trying to find out how much thrust there was in a jetpack but there were to manny variables so I switched to a simpler much cooler topic.
Mario! After messing around I found some shocking things about Mario's world and how it works. I think that this was not only lots of fun but a great experience. I loved seeing peoples reactions as I told them my discoveries.

The most important thing I learned is that if video games followed the laws of physics then they would be boring. The only thing that matters is that the game is fun and creative.

Mario's G-Force issue

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/space/gravity-forces.html

there is tons of info about g forces on this site I'm gonna pull some data from this site.

Based on rates of survival (or lack thereof) during crashes, it became accepted wisdom that no pilot

could withstand more than 18 G's, or 18 times the force of gravity at sea level. So cockpits were

designed to withstand only 18 G's. Yet pilots sometimes walked away from crashes in which the G

forces were calculated to have been much higher.

in 1948 a scientist did some experiments himself to see what the human body could really endure he was able to withstand 35 G''s but he cracked to ribs and broke his wrist. He also lost some dental fillings.

Mario is experiencing 139.278 of g force

So if Mario experienced this kind of G force his outside would move faster than his inside. He would pass out instantly and his legs would be shattered. His organs would be pushed down hard causing all sorts of internal bleeding and his spine would snap in a least on place (just below his head) :)

All of this is just for experiencing gravity on earth! Mario's gravity is just shy of DOUBLE THAT!

3 questions in consept

1. Mario falls pretty fast can he survive that kind of a fall?
Theoretically yes, but it is not the fall that would kill him! When he jumps the amount of g force would destroy his body and turn all his organs to mush.

2. how strong would Mario have to be to jump that high with that kind of gravity?
So Mario's acceleration is 357 m/s/s or 11.1 g due to the gravity on earth so next we have to equate that to gravity so add one g so 12.1 g

Ok so the equation we are going to use is F=m*a.  Mario weighs 245 pounds and his gravity is 17.76 so that times 12.1 so 214.816*245= 52,649.52 newtons of force.

a regular human only has 889.6 newtons
(Mario can squat 11,836 lbs!)

3. Mario reaches his max speed almost instantly when he jumps. What would that kind of acceleration do to someone?
Mario goes from 0 meters per second to 191.22 in only 0.14 seconds thats 1365.85714285714 Meters/square second that puts his body are around 139.27866732 G force!!!!!!!

Flash Mario's gravity in detail

d=1/2 g t^2

2d/t^2=g

it takes him .483 seconds to fall 21.4 ft

42.8 ft/0.233= 183.69g

terminal velocity for Mario comes out at about 39 meters per second

Mario is traveling 44.29 ft/sec! converted to meters per sec thats about 13.5 m/sec

He would probably survive but his body would hurt. Also he couldn't do that fall all the time.

Problems

So there are just to manny variables for me to figure out for this to be a good idea so I am switching to a simpler game. I could not figure out the exact weight and they are wearing exo suits that help them jump so I don't know how much they weigh and without a jetpack they were jumping 400 inches into the air as apposed to the regular 12 inches. So I have switched to flash mario.

The 3 questions for the game

1. Is the gravity in that game realistic
Mario falls at an avg. of 58.3 ft/sec thats almost 700 inches per second. Wolfram time thats 1.813g thats 17.76 way more than the gravity of earth (9.8) mario is very strong to jump that heigh with such a strong gravity.
2. How fast is Mario running
He runs 36.6 ft/sec thats almost 25 miles per hour! This guy is crazy.
3. How high can Mario jump
Mario in his super state stands 7 ft tall, That's very tall just to start. But then get this, He can jump 35 ft into the air that's 5 times his own height
